The power behind the chaos
When we accept imperfections and find balance while letting go

Surrender
Earlier this week, I watched a traffic light cycle through its colors for a half hour as I stared at the back of a semi-truck while sitting in a wall of traffic.
My house was ten blocks away, and my destination was across a river. Therefore no matter how hard I tried, getting to where I needed was not an option. Slowly I watched as time slipped away and the time I needed to arrive approached.
I was late.
My inner perfectionist chimed in and informed me that even though I have never been late to this particular place, this time I was, and therefore I should go home and throw in the towel.
But I decided not to. This time I showed up, an hour and a half late, and knew there may be an uncomfortable interaction because I did so. But, there wasn’t and things worked out. I showed up, albeit a little messy and scattered, and all was well.
My relationship with the theme of perfection lies in the truth that I used to be careless most of the time. Especially when I navigated a theme of chaos in my life. A chaos that shadowed the health issues I was scared to face, and masked the adversities I navigated from a very young age.
I have a fear now that if things aren’t just so, I will slip into these old ways. I fear that my health will get worse. I think if I can just get it right, every day, there will be a reward, and I can reach perfection.
But the lateness I speak of above reminded me that perfection is in embracing the imperfections, and in finding balance. To be perfect is impossible, and this place in between is true authenticity.
This week ahead also marks ten years of being alcohol-free for me. I released this theme of chaos within my life and found this balance when I began my dedication to unraveling my health journey. I found this by offering myself the option to one day drink again and so far I have chosen not to - for a whole decade. I am grateful I have this mindset for myself because others may not.
This gentleness, with all things, is something I am learning to embrace within all areas of my life and I share this experience with you so that you may too. There is such strength in sharing our journeys - even when were late.

Collective Reading
Past: The World
The past shows a time when we walked forward after a rebirth. This card is the end of the Fool’s journey - where all the wonder from the path he walked became available.
In this past position, this was a time when collectively we saw a purpose in the world. A time when all things came together. A moment when we felt at one with the world and universe. A time when we acknowledged that at the end of one cycle is rebirth and that this cycle repeats time and time again throughout our existence.
Present: Strength
From the energies of the World card, we flow into Strength. Taking the lessons of the Fool’s journey and bringing them forward with us into the present moment. Honoring the cycles that flow throughout our lives and allowing them to offer us strength.
As we enter the sign of Leo tomorrow, this Strength card shines as it is ruled by the sign of Leo.
Future: The Hierophant
With the Hierophant present, the future becomes a place of structure. This structure on a collective level offers the energies of finding structure within society, but with the reminder of not letting this structure become too firm.
It, therefore, reminds us to find our place within society and within our place of community without too much rigidity. Allowing yourself to exist without harshness and judgment but to honor others’ place in the world as you honor your own.
Until next week,
Annie
